New Antique Earrings
This artifact is a piece that wasn't done for a grade but for my own enjoyment. The antique buttons (the circles with the floral pattern) reminded me of a pair of earrings I already own, with their own antique buttons, and I was inspired to make this pair for prom.
As I started this new challenge, I struggled to find beads that matched my vision, and that were the right size. Eventually, I found all the materials, but I had no idea as to how I was going to attach the chains, beads and buttons, and add an earring back. So, I went to my jewelry teacher, and we brainstormed, eventually we came up with a game plan, and I assembled the set with minimal issue. Through this project I learned patience and I'm more comfortable with asking for assistance from others.
This artifact demonstrates my attention to details and my attentiveness to aesthetics. Many of my other artifacts also demonstrate extreme attention to detail and aesthetic. As I have with many of my works, I hope to carry the same attention and attentiveness on to my future in architecture.
storybook office
This artifact was a project from my sculpture class, which I had known that I wanted to make a diorama of a cozy space, one I don't have. The use of the media that I chose was partially based off of what was available but mostly based on the aesthetic of the material. The walls and floor are the same material, but opposite sides, along with the desk. the furniture was all handmade, sewn by me.
This project held few challenges, mostly the lack of materials in the size or aesthetic that I had wanted, so I allowed myself leeway, allowed myself to explore colors and patterns before settling on a certain piece. Additionally, I struggled with the creation of the chair, giving up on many designs, because they each were seemingly impossible on such a scale. However, as an outcome of this project I became more confident in my work in miniatures and was able to sew more skillfully.

Tangled Tea
This artifact is my final for my ceramics class, which started out as an interest in making a tea set. However, as I thought through the theme for the project, I became very intrigued by the idea of self-representation. The Tangled movie is a story I've aways felt connected to and is a huge part of my childhood- I wanted the set to incorporate all of my favorite scenes from the movie.
As I shifted the project from a sketch on paper to the actual clay I came to the realization; the materials weren't going to be able to support the original sketched designs and be functional. So, I shifted away from adding the details with the clay, to adding them with glazing. through completing the project, I was able to better plan for the issues of structure and design with the medium to plan for more intricate, yet functional works.
this artifact demonstrates a lot of the fine line, and intricate details of my works. I tend to lean towards such detailed works to be able to combine many personality trails and feelings into each work. As I move into architecture, I hope to continually follow these paths to cohesively work in such detail.
