Throughout this part of the project, I was able to experiment with architectural
promenades and form to create a volumetric artifact that could be exemplified by
affordance. One of the hardest parts of the project was translating the collage by
Daniel Libeskind an architect to a 3D volumetric artifact, to translate a combination
of lines, shapes, and negative space into a 3D, standing “building” of sorts, that
could be walked through. I enjoyed the critique we did, and it has given me many
ideas to ponder in order to better this concept into a final volume that will stand

The architectural promenade is a powerful design concept that transforms
movement into an experience. It invites visitors to engage with a building slowly
and intentionally, revealing spaces in a curated sequence rather than all at once.
As one moves, shifts in light, scale, and perspective create a narrative that
deepens the connection between the individual and the architecture. I find this
idea compelling because it treats the journey as just as important as the
destination. Instead of architecture being static, the promenade makes it dynamic
and interactive, encouraging discovery and reflection. It reminds me that good
design isn’t only about form; it’s about guiding emotion, rhythm, and perception
through space. -
